Overview: Many transgender individuals face barriers and challenges that make it difficult to find & receive competent healthcare or feel they have had a positive provider experience. The purpose of this activity is increase nurses’ knowledge base of caring for transgender patients.
Learning Outcome: Participants will be able to describe strategies to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to Transgender patients.
Speakers: Carly Gerretsen, DNP, RN. FNP-C, RNFA is an experienced Nurse Practitioner and RN First Assistant. Dr. Gerretsen cares for transgender patients at ECMC.

This continuing nursing education activity is approved by the Northeast Multi-State Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
