Overview
Many transgender individuals face barriers and challenges that make it difficult to find & receive competent healthcare or feel they have had a positive provider experience. The purpose of this activity is increase nurses’ knowledge base of caring for transgender patients.
Learning Outcome
Participants will be able to describe strategies to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to Transgender patients.
Speakers
Carly Gerretsen, DNP, RN. FNP-C, RNFA is an experienced Nurse Practitioner and RN First Assistant. Dr. Gerretsen cares for transgender patients at ECMC.

This continuing nursing education activity is approved by the Northeast Multi-State Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
